Having spent over a decade practicing traditional therapy in a calm, quiet room with a notepad, sitting across from clients, I realized that people often practiced the strategies they learned and reflected on their sessions in more relaxed environments. This observation led me to research the benefits of talking in nature. There's substantial evidence showing that exposure to natural outdoor stimuli during conversations can enhance the cognitive experience.
As a result, I have tailored my approach to incorporate nature into my therapy sessions. I now offer one-to-one sessions either on a walk in a location convenient for you or in the beautiful beachside town of Folkestone, where I reside. These sessions are completely confidential and adhere to the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Throughout my career, I have worked across various modalities, but my approach is grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This therapeutic method emphasizes solutions and strengths rather than problems and weaknesses. In life, people often achieve better outcomes when they have clear goals and a focused approach, so I incorporate these principles into my practice to help clients reach their desired outcomes.
